How to Install an eSIM on iPhone (Step-by-Step)

Installing an eSIM on your iPhone takes less than 5 minutes. This guide walks you through the entire process, from purchasing your plan to getting connected.

Before You Start

Make sure your iPhone supports eSIM. The following models have eSIM capability:

• iPhone XS, XS Max, XR (2018) and later
• iPhone SE (2nd generation, 2020) and later
• iPhone 14 US models are eSIM-only (no physical SIM tray)

You'll also need a Wi-Fi connection to download the eSIM profile.

Step 1: Purchase Your eSIM Plan

Choose a provider and purchase your plan. You'll receive a QR code via email or in the provider's app. Some providers (like Airalo) have their own app that simplifies the process further.
